NEHRA Spring Conference
May 19, 2011
As part of NEHRA’s Spring Conference - Rethink HR: People Practices and Tools for Today's Reality, Chuck MCG Partners will present a Learning Lab titled, Do More with Less: How to Link Development, Selection, Performance and Retention Initiatives
Session summary:
Hiring the right role and cultural fit; building teams; improving performance; engaging and retaining talent; developing high potentials, successors and leaders. These are some of today’s most critical challenges.
Despite the interconnection, organizations struggle to find approaches and tools that link these critical talent management initiatives. The lack of a common methodology and a measureable tool creates inefficiencies and inconsistencies in how these talent strategies are developed, implemented, and measured.
Doing more with less is an opportunity for organizations to link talent initiatives with a reliable, proven approach. Management needs an approach that is accurate, simple, and quick; offering high impact and conciseness while delivering results.
In this session learn how you can link your talent initiatives and enhance your strategies for developing talent and leadership, building teams, and improving performance & engagement.
Participants will learn how to:
- Understand how to define employee’s natural behavioral style and use that information to predict how the person performs functions key to the success of your organization, including how he/she:
- communicates
- builds relationships
- persuades and influences
- acts as part of a team
- makes decisions
- manages conflict, pressure & stress
- deals with change
- open to risk & innovation
- manages vs. leads
- Apply assessment data to define and shape key talent questions including:
- What kind of people do we need? What kind do we have? Do we have them in the right places?
- How do we drive change throughout the organization and how will change initiatives be received?
- How can we work together with less organizational friction?
- How do we manage performance? How do we hold people accountable?
- Develop strategies to improve communication, team interaction, and barriers to success and engagement

Sales Results = Sales Skills, Behaviors, Training and Coaching
June 8, 2011
Marketing Tech Conference, Montevideo, Uruguay
Session summary:
The greatest impact to achieving and sustaining consistent sales results is to understand your people- their strengths, their drives and motivations - targeting help to where they need it, and motivating them to perform at their full potential. McKinsey, one of the world's largest and most respected consulting firms has research showing that top sales people outperform average sales people 14 to 1!
This gap widens even further when compared to underperforming sales people, and underperforming salespeople significantly costs a business. In addition to salary and benefits you lose sales opportunities, clients, management time, administrative costs and training costs.

Leverage the Power of Position and Cultural fit to improve Recruiting and Selection
June 15, 2011
As part of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers Annual Conference- Breeding Success, Cheryl Jacobs will present a workshop titled Leverage the Power of Position and Cultural fit to improve Recruiting and Selection.
Session summary:
Cultural fit plays an increasingly important role in making a good match between potential candidates and employers. Research shows that individuals are most highly engaged when working in a position and environment that maximizes their natural drives and motivations.
When contemplating career choices, college students must consider not only role fit and functional and industry specifics, but also how or if the environment will be a good fit. Similarly, to increase the effectiveness of their college recruiting efforts, employers must define and recognize the attributes critical to success in their organization, and use that information to guide their choices about who they bring on board.
